Character at Bayless

The National School of Character Badge

Bayless Elementary is a 2021 National School of Character.  Bayless High School and Bayless Junior High are also National Schools of Character.  Bayless School District is a 2016 National District of Character.

The goal of the National Schools of Character (NSOC) awards program is to recognize all schools and districts that demonstrate an exemplary level of implementation of Character Education Partnership's Eleven Principles of Effective Character Education. The NSOC designation is renewable after five years. The awards recognize the level of excellence schools and districts have achieved in the Eleven Principles of Effective Character Education of Effective Character Education. These principles guide the process of creating a culture based on the community’s shared values.

PBIS is a process for creating safer and more effective schools by structuring the learning environment to support the academic and social success of all students. The process supports the adoption and long-term implementation of efficient and effective discipline throughout the school environment. PBIS methods are research-based and proven to significantly reduce the occurrence of problem behaviors in schools.  Bayless Schools are proud participants in PBIS.

A message from Principal Aaron Kohler

Dear Bayless Families,

Welcome to Bayless Elementary! It's a great time to be a Broncho! We are proud to continue our focus on academics, character education and PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports). Students know and model our core Portrait of a Graduate Core Values (POAG). Our POAG core values expect student to be: Problem Solvers, Critical and Creative Thinkers, Collaborative Communicators, and Global Citizens.  Students are expected to demonstrate these values at school and also outside of the school setting. Students receive Brilliant Bronchos when demonstrating outstanding core value behavior and those achievements are recognized daily in our morning announcements.

The Bayless community is stronger than ever and we appreciate all the support our parents and community members have shown us. Parent Community engagement events take place regularly throughout the school year. Check out our calendar for upcoming events.

We hope to see you there.

Sincerely,
Mr. Aaron M. Kohler, Ed.S.
